On June 6, 1966, Roy Orbison's beautiful, young wife, Claudette, was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident leaving Roy and their three boys- Roy DeWayne, Anthony, and Wesley- behind. This devastating event shattered Roy, but he took refuge in caring for his family and by turning to his music.

On September 14, 1968, the Orbison family home at Old Hickory Lake in Hendersonville, Tennessee, burned to the ground while Orbison was touring in England.

Claudette Frady Orbison was the daughter of Chester and Geraldine Harvey Frady. She was the first wife of Roy Orbison, and died in an accident when her motorcycle collided with a pickup truck near Gallatin, Tennessee. Two years later two of her sons would die in a house fire. Wesley is the only surviving son.
